My two boys had been begging me and my husband to buy them a puppy for years. I am not quite sure why we cracked in the end but eventually we give in and bought a cute little Labrador puppy. The boys loved him instantly and spent hours playing with him, which was great as it kept them all entertained during the long school holidays. However when September came and the boys had to go back to school it was a different story. The puppy had grown into quite a large dog by then and I think he must have just got bored being in the house on his own during the day because he wrecked havoc. He chewed plaster off the walls and ripped shreds out of the sofa. We have now had to pay for a dog walker to come in and take him out during the day to keep him entertained. We then had to use our home insurance cover to sort out the house but I think we now have everything sorted.
