How to choose small business accounting software – Part 1

9:10 am Business

The internet has given rise to a wider choice of small business accounting software. Small business owners and their management teams now have two purchase options buy traditional licensed software or “rent” on demand web applications. Even with more and more reports of cyber crime and threats of cyber attacks, millions of people worldwide are comfortable to store significant portions of personal and commercial data online. The new generations of internet users expect everything to be delivered through the browser. The rapid evolution and adoption of the web has lead to the ocean wave like arrival of new tools and methods that make it much easier to recreate and advance the licensed software experience in an online environment. Equally the sharp downward shift in the price of these systems, coupled with the cost of bandwidth has created a fertile ground for new online business systems. These “connected” systems provide their designers with real time and instant feedback from every user and providing vital guidance for how the system can be improved or refined to increase user satisfaction. Online systems therefore will evolve at a much faster rate than their “local” counterparts and therefore there is a compelling case for every business owner and manager to consider these systems when choosing business accounting software. We bank online, we share personal information with friends and businesses online so why shouldn’t we do our accounts online.
