Solar panels are also known as photovoltaic panels is a collection of interconnected solar cells or also known as photovoltaic cells. The solar panel its self is used as a part of a larger system to give environmentally friendly electricity for residential and commercial properties. A single solar panel can only produce so much energy and many installations will require more than just one. More than one solar panel is known as a photovoltaic array. An installation consists of an array of solar panels, an inverter, some batteries and an interconnected wiring. The systems are mostly used for on grid power usage.
