Belgian beers in London have been in the doledrums. The recession in financial services, property, law consultancy and accountancy in London hit just those 20-30 somethings who were most likely to be buying Belgian beers in London .  Now that coupled with consistent beer duty increases which of course disproportionally hit the price of Belgian beers because of thier higher percentage alcohol volume pretty well eliminated growth in 2009.  However things seem to be on the up now with our new Robo Chancellor amazingly not increasing beer duty this year plus London’s financial services, property, law consultancy and accountancy continue to show sign’s of recovery despite all the doom mongers. Peacock bar’s Belgian Beer Tasting extravaganza with its focus just on fruit beers seems to have come just at the right time
