At first a hairdresser will be comfortable with his or her barber shears since they chose them carefully.  There will often be mistakes and callous will form from first use.  Much like trying on and using the new shoes you bought.  No matter how carefully you’ve chosen it your body or skin would still need to get use to it.  And much like new friends, hairdressers and their barber shears need time to get use to each other.  For the first tries hairdressers and their barber shears would be getting to know each other until the get acquainted.
