I got a bit confused the other day when checking out Rogaine, the hair loss remedy that is FDA approved. I saw it spelled Regaine in some places and wondered whether it was the same product. Well, the answer is, yes, it is! Minoxidil, the medication noted for helping with hair loss, trades under the names Rogaine and Regaine. Rogaine is the brand name used in the US and Canada while Regaine is the brand name used in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Interestingly, the version for men has a 5% concentration and the one for women has 2%. This probably is due to the difference in hair loss patterns between men and women as men are often affected by the typical horseshoe shape pattern baldness. Anyway, now you know, for what it’s worth!
