Road trips with my sister are perpetually good because you never know what you’ll find. On one such trip last year, we visited a small museum solely dedicated to the best rice cookers of the decade. That a person had such an assemblage was already quite engaging for us. We came away from the museum with a better idea of what our rice cookers should be. I didn’t know that condensed steam can make rice sticky, and that there are actually lids to keep it from occurring. There’s nothing worse than rice that has become sloppy and soft. Rice is my preferred food. You can eat it in savory or even sweet styles.
