I bought myself an inexpensive electric guitar and a small amp a few months ago and have been slowly learning the basic chords.  I really enjoy playing and have learned to play a number of songs really well.  I have become interested in learning to play solos and need to learn to play the scales on guitar.  I bought a book to learn from, but found that to be very boring.  I found that I was getting frustrated so I started looking for alternatives.  I was really pleased when I found lessons online that are really helping me progress very quickly.
