Planning day trips or mini field trips is always something that kids are excited to do.  Trying to figure out an activity that’s interesting can be a challenge, but it’s great when you can find an activity that they have never done before to make it educational as well.  One day, plan a fishing trip with lessons.  You can teach them how to use different fishing poles, fishing reels, how to cast, and how to take the fish off of the hook ,if they are old enough.  Plan a picnic lunch to go along with your fishing excursion and it is sure to be something they will remember.  Probably a half day of fishing would be ideal as energetic kids may become restless if no fish are biting
